About Mrs. Samsel
This will be my seventh year teaching! I grew up in Canastota, NY and attended Syracuse University, so I have always been close to the Chittenango area. Having the opportunity to join the Chittenango School District in 2014 was a dream come true! Two years ago, I taught sixth grade at the middle school and spent the year preparing for the roll out of iPads. Once we had them in our hands, we made incredible gains and discovered new ways to learn and create each day! Last year, I had the opportunity to be the only fifth grade class to pilot iPads! Alongside teaching, technology has always been a passion of mine.
My two other passions are swimming and singing. I taught swimming lessons at the Canastota Pool for ten years and eventually became the Assistant Director there. Those experiences were what truly peaked my interest in teaching. Singing has been a part of my life since middle school. I took part in drama club and musicals and eventually joined a local band that I was a part of for almost five years. After the addition of our beautiful daughter to my family I decided to take time off from singing, but hope to get back to it someday!
My students typically describe me as extremely energetic. I find this to be a handy quality as a teacher! I genuinely adore what I do for a living, and I am hopeful that your students will enjoy being a part of our classroom community!
